STAMPS
Many people are curious about how the canceled stamps are used and who receives a benefit from this mission. One of the organizations that use the profits from the sale of the stamps is the ITLD (Institute for Theology and Leadership Development) in Jamaica. Last year they bought books with the funds to be used for their training classes for "lay pastors" or "youth directors". These classes cover "Introduction to Christian Theology", "Introduction to Psychology:, and "Introduction of the Old Testament". These core courses can lead students to certificates, diplomas or degrees in Pastoral Ministry, Youth Ministry, Church and Community Ministry or guidance and Counseling. The funds from the sale of the canceled stamps are very often used for books of this type, typewriters, and other necessary teaching tools. Many mission centers benefit from this ministry. New issue stamps and special series stamps are especially valuable express mail stamps are also very helpful.
Remember to save stamps for the Shenango Home Mission Project. If you don't want to cut stamps off, leave stamp on envelope and place in the box on table in Narthex.
