MISSIONS OF THE MONTH
GRACE MEMORIAL…..Grace Memorial Hospital now serves as a
para-medical and social work facility. Part of the Hospital is rented to a Public Health Service, the rest is waiting for funds to do the necessary updating to function fully as a Hospital. The majority of their time is spent helping with government paperwork required for everything from birth certificates, marriage certificates, proof of identity, to those required for housing and medical treatment. This usually also includes helping set up appointments and providing the transportation and help in understanding the instructions after the appointment.
HOME EMERGENCY…..The Emergency Fund was established to help out Bethel Church families in times of need. It is held in strict confidence. Each emergency is handled on an individual basis. The deacons will also provide council and information regarding outside help.
INGRID RENEAU…..Ingrid grew up in Belize, Central America (formerly British Honduras). She is a professor of education, having taught at several colleges in the U.S. In 2003 she began a transforming journey of living the scriptures. In a long roundabout life’s journey, she has been called to the Sudan. Ingrid is supported by our Shenango Presbytery and two other Presbyteries. She works with two Sudanese Presbyterian denominations and a group called “ACROSS” (Association of Christian Resource Organization Serving Sudan) Ingrid is working to build, expand and strengthen a church sponsored education system in the Sudan. Sudan has been in turmoil for many years due to wars and tribal conflicts. Ingrid is based in Nairobi, Kenya, but she works mainly in the Sudan, quite often in primitive conditions, to rebuild and improve this Christian based school system also, to train and encourage the native teachers. Pray for Ingrid amid the tribal fighting and strife; for her safety and encouragement, and remember her with your mission offerings.
