COOKIE FELLOWSHIP!!
Twas the night before Christmas and all through Bethel’s House
Not a church member was silent, not even a mouse
The sermon was given and carols sung with great care
In hopes that laughter and cookies would soon be there
People were nestling all snug in the Fellowship hall
While visions of sugar cookies came to call
And mama in her kerchief and I in my cap
Had just finished placing cookies and coffee in people’s laps.
Please join us for cookies and beverages after the 7:00PM ONLY Christmas Eve service in the fellowship hall.
Now Dash Away, Dash Away, Dash Away All!
If you would like to donate cookies or homemade goodies for this event please contact Shawn or Heidi Sensky.
Pastor Mark will be out of the office from December 25 through January 2, returning January 3. If there is a pastoral emergency contact Jeremy.
Bethel’s session is pleased to announce that at our meeting last Tuesday night, the board unanimously approved a plan to proceed to find God’s building plan. This is a step by step recipe that will put the decision process in motion. It begins by taking a fresh look at all the possibilities, asking the important questions, evaluating the answers, and culminating, Lord willing, in a building plan that session will offer to the congregation for your approval. All of this, as we continue to do the most important part, seek God’s guidance and wisdom.
We ask that you continue to pray. At the January meeting a list of building related questions will be compiled. If you have any that you would like to have on that list, please write them on a piece of paper and give them to a session member, place in the offering plate, leave them in the church office, or submit them to Pastor Mark.
NEW STUDY WITH PASTOR TIPPIN
J.I. PACKERS BOOK ~ KNOWING GOD
From Amazon.com review.
“In 1973 Knowing God has become a contemporary classic by creating “small studies out of great subjects”. Each chapter is so specific in focus (covering topics such as the trinity, election, God’s wrath, and God’s sovereignty), that each succeeding chapter’s theology seems to rival the next, until one’s mind is so expanded that one’s entire view of God has changed”.
Knowing God is an introduction to theology aimed at the average Christian. Packer uses a study of the attributes of God as the central approach to help his readers know who God is. The study will meet on Sunday evenings at 6:30 at the manse for 11 weeks beginning on February 7. There will be required reading and workbook assignments that need to be completed before each group study. This is a small group study and the size of the group is limited to twelve. Please call the church secretary if attending by January 10, 2010.

BABY BOTTLE DRIVE
The Pregnancy Resource Center is a Christian non-profit organization in New Castle that assists those facing an unplanned pregnancy. A few of the services offered are free pregnancy testing, education on pregnancy options, parenting classes, free maternity and baby items, and pregnancy loss counseling. We are supported by local grants, churches, and individuals. To maintain, and hopefully increase, our services we are holding a Baby Bottle Drive. We are asking church members to take a bottle home and fill it with change. The bottles are located in the Overflow Room. Further directions are with the bottles. Please have the bottles returned to the church by Jan. 17th. If you have any questions you may see Lindsay Young or call the PRC at 658-6329. Thank you so much for your participation!
