MISSIONS OF THE MONTH…..

CRISIS SHELTER OF LAWRENCE COUNTY….. The Crisis Shelter of Lawrence County assists women, children and men that are struggling in an abusive relationship. The shelter provides temporary shelter for women and children who need a place to live because where they are now isn't safe. There is a hotline staffed 24 hours a day all year long for anyone who needs information, help or an ear to listen.
We will be having a representative come in October, which is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, to give a Moment for Mission. Please pray for all those in the shelter that need shelter or are trying to get
themselves out of an abusive relationship.

NEW TRIBES MISSION…..Dan and Kathy Stokes write that they are excited about the opportunity that the Lord has given in the upcoming weeks to share their burden to reach the unreached people of the world. During the last week of August they met with a group from MI at Jersey Shore, PA.
They experienced a Wayumi, a great program run by NTM missionaries. This involves a visit to a simulated tribal village and a peek at what is involved in reaching an unreachable group.
Their September schedule shows meetings in MI. and a mission conference in IN. and another one later in the month in MI. Please pray for them in their travels to serve.

Bill and Debby Bosley are having a busy month. Bill had a meeting to start planning for a church campaign coming up in Oct. He helped a missionary from Guinea doing French study in Senegal who came to Dakar for Bill to help with paperwork for him to get his vehicle allowable in Senegal. He was also working on entry paperwork for a former coworker to enter the country
for a visit and there is no Senegal consulate representative in New Zealand where they live. Debby is busy holding down the home front for them and others who need assistance. Doing some computer work and hoping the power doesn't go off. They also need power to run the fan to keep their home more comfortable. They send greetings to us at Bethel and also enjoy receiving the Bethelite. They pray for us for our concerns they read in the Bethelite.
PIONEERS…..Paul and Lucinda Bentley are in their home in Bolivia and planning for the travels that they will do shortly for two months. Paul is busy planning and preparing for this and preparing for upcoming speaking at the leadership meetings and conferences. They thank us for remembering them before the Father who sees and cares for each detail.

NILE THEOLOGICAL COLLEGE…..Next year in the Sudan, a referendum is being held to decide if Sudan should be divided into North Sudan and South Sudan. If that should happen, Nile Theological College would need to move south because of a larger Christian community. Land is very difficult to obtain from the Sudan government. NTC is dong very well at this time and it is not too early to pray that the Sudan will not be divided.

Please help restock the H.O.P.E. food bank for the month of September, October, November Peanut Butter, Jelly, Canned Tuna and meats. Thank you for your continuing support

"Pour out your heart like water before the face of the Lord...Lift up your hands toward Him for the lives of your children." Lamentations 2:19. The purpose of Moms in Touch is to intercede for our children through prayer and to pray that our schools may be guided by biblical values and high moral standards. If you would like to have the privilege of praying for one hour every week for your Jr./Sr. High children along with other moms please contact Chris Arisman - 724-336-4848.

36 Bethel families have made a commitment to attend Financial Peace University starting this fall. Many of these young families need YOU. Providing child care is a great way to come along side these families to support their efforts to explore what God says about money. You need only commit to be on the list. A parent will call you as needed and you may dictate your availability on a weekly basis. You do not need to commit to all 13 weeks! If you are willing to serve a few hours on a Monday night call Cheri (724)656-0694!
Financial Peace University Classes start Monday September 13th,
6:30-8:30pm. Class will run 13 straight weeks and graduation night is December 6th. Kits will be issued at the first class. A list of volunteers to provide child care will be available soon.
Any questions call (724)656-0694.

New Membership Class- Come and explore if God is calling you to become a member at Bethel. We will look at several areas of what it means to be a Christian and an active disciple of Jesus Christ as a member of Bethel. If you are not certain if you are ready to join Bethel this is the place to help you make that decision. We will meet for 6 weeks during the Sunday School hour in the Pastor’s office beginning September 26. Please call the church office to inform us of your intention to join us.

Please consider singing with the choir if your schedule permits. We have fun, we learn and it only takes up 1 hour on a Wednesday night and the later Sunday service. “Sing unto the Lord songs of praise for he is worthy!”

If anyone has anything in storage at the church it needs to be removed ASAP to make room for storage needed for church groups. Any questions see a trustee!!
