MISSIONS FOR THE MONTH OF MARCH
YOUNGSTOWN INTERVARSITY….. From Katie Schneider of IVCL in a recent email.
Concerning the fatal shooting at YSU: "We could really use your prayers for YSU at this critical time. There is a heaviness on students' hearts that the Christian students can give such comfort to; there is an awareness in students' lives that the life they have been living is short and often filled with things that are not worth living or dying for; and there is an openness to God and to a different way of living that the Gospel can speak into. I'm praying that this tragedy will be a turning point for many, many students in their walk with God."

New Tribes Mission is based in Sanford, FL and they are involved in
church planting ministry focusing on unevangelized tribal groups.
We have connections with Bill and Debby Bosley in Dakar, Senegal. Bill deals with the government doing all the paper work involved in the capital for missionaries stationed in the area. Debby prints educational materials and Bible translations and also helps as a host for incoming missionaries and does some nursing work too.
Dan and Kathy Stokes are based in Saginaw, MI and have organized a trip for volunteers to go with them to New Guinea this summer.
Please look at email letters from them in the narthex on the Missions Bulletin Board.
Pioneers: Paul and Lucinda Bentley are currently in Cochabamba, Bolivia, S.A. Paul coordinates different missionaries assignments in areas of the world where there are working on translations of the Bible and other materials into native languages. He helps with radio broadcasting that goes out to natives far from the city where they live. Lucinda is also involved with teaching women in many areas of their live.
Look for their latest email on the mission bulletin board on the narthex.
Nile Theological College….. In January the people of the south in Sudan
voted to separate from the north of Sudan and become a legal country; they
will become the newest country in the world as of June 9, 2011. The new
country will be called South Sudan. This change also affects the Nile
Theological College (NTC) in Khartoum, Sudan. The Arabic Track and the
Diploma Program will remain in Khartoum as the English Track of the
college relocates to the new country of South Sudan. The primary language
of the south is English; however, Arabic is spoken there as well along with
many tribal languages. Please pray for the students and for the new country
of South Sudan.
During Tuesday's prayer time before the session meeting, there will be an emphasis on tensions in the world, notably the Middle East, Asia and Northern Africa. We are encouraging all Bethel members to join together in lifting up these areas of concern. Join us at 7:00pm in the large classroom off the fellowship hall this Tuesday evening!!

Baptism Preparation Class On March 26 Bethel will host its first baptism preparation class. This class is required for parents who would like to have their young children/infant baptized but open to all who have an interest including older children, youth or adults desiring baptism or others who are interested in learning more about baptism. We will hold this class only twice a year the other one being in the fall. The class will run from 8:30 a.m. to about noon. A sweet breakfast will be provided. Call the church office to register or with questions. You can attend this class even if you are just expecting or in the adoption process. Both parents should attend.
SERMON TOPICS…..This summer I would like to take a few weeks to preach on passages or topics which are on your minds and hearts. So go ahead and write down your requests and put it in the container on the outside of my office door or send via e-mail. You can pick a particular verse, passage or question in general. I cannot guarantee that I will preach on all submissions but will do my best. Yes, I know this is only March but I like to plan ahead -Thanks, Pastor Mark
