MISSIONS OF THE MONTH……….
NEW WILMINGTON MISSIONARY CONFERENCE…..
JULY 23-30, 2011
2011 Theme Verse: “I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth” Romans 9:17
NWMC Mission Statement
The New Wilmington Mission Conference looks to deepen the missionary spirit, seeking fulfillment of the Great Commission, with a focus on youth ages 12-24. Mission interpretation meets the duty and ideal of carrying the gospel to ALL the world. NWMC uses its Presbyterian mission heritage to encourage a deep spiritual life of fellowship with God by promoting service and witness for Jesus Christ.
The New Wilmington Mission Conference is a week-long, multi-generational, Presbyterian Church (USA)-related, mission conference held on the campus of Westminster College in western PA (1/2 hour north of Bethel). The focus is on youth ages 12 to 24 but all ages are welcome. Last year 1,000 people from 33 states and 36 countries were registered and 1,000 locals came to hear speakers. We can enjoy this only 25 miles from home!

AFRICA RURAL MISSION…..The Venters were excited to report the progress in their very rural projects. They are able to supply Bibles to those who request one. The agriculture self-help is in the process of harvest. The women's skill classes are growing quickly. They are VERY OPEN to the WORD despite the mistreatment that is just accepted as a way of life.
Pray with the Venters for wisdom in all their hands find to do. For sensitive hearts to the Lord's leading. To learn how to be willing servants through whom the Lord can demonstrate His love.
YOUTH GROUP BIBLE STUDY
Bible Study will be on Thursday mornings 9:30AM at the home of Andy & Lindsay Young.
MISSIONARIES BILL AND DEBBY BOSLEY
A tureen dinner will be held in the Fellowship Hall on Monday, July 11th at 6:30 P.M. Our guests for the evening will be Bill and Debby Bosley, missionaries whom Bethel helps support in Senegal, Africa. It is a good time to meet them and learn about their work there. They will have a video presentation to share and will also answer questions from us.
So bring along a tureen to share, your own table service and the drinks and bread will be provided.
SUNDAY SCHOOL
Please register your children for fall Sunday School. This will help us with planning for space, materials, teachers, etc. Forms are on table in narthex and back of sanctuary. Please return form by July 15. Place in offering plate or leave in tray on office door.
Brown Bag Lunch Conversation
Please join Pastor Mark for a conversation on the issues facing our denomination Sunday, July 17. The purpose of the conversation is to make sure we all understand the issues facing our denomination. It is an opportunity to ask questions about the issues. Bring a lunch for yourself. The conversation will take place after the second service in Fellowship Hall.
FIRESIDE CHATS
Join the Tippin family around a bonfire at the manse. Come and enjoy fellowship and talk about nonsense, theology, Bible and denominational situations. Bring whatever you would like to cook over the fire, drinks and a lawn chair. The entire family is welcome. The fellowship will begin at 8:00PM on the following Fridays; July 22 and August 26.
No sign up required, just show up weather permitting

THANK YOU
Thank you everyone who sent cards and signed the card from the church and for all who have prayed for my recovery. On May 24 I fell while getting off my bike and broke my left hip. I am glad to report that I am recovering well and sorry to report that, at age 92, I have taken my last bicycle ride!
Fond Bethel memories,
Joe Hopkins
